Surrender Love

Not rebound, payback, loneliness, or great sex, and far beyond love. This is surrender.

In the beds of countless lovers, the immortal Luc Saint-Cyr has been mastered as well as master, commanded as well as commander. When his mortal lover leaves him, the distraught Luc withdraws and devotes himself to work. His entertainment company throws a ceremony for their most successful rock group, and Luc meets drummer Izzorah "Rah" Ceeow, one of the feline Kin race. Rah's dark hair and velvety, golden furskin captivate Luc. Pert cat's ears and a quick smile lighten his mood, and one look into Rah's emerald eyes, deep and tranquil as a forest pool, and troubles cease.

He suspects the mid-twenties male is a virgin, and Luc, fascinated by Rah's quiet serenity and lack of guile, longs for a deeper, closer relationship. Savoring Rah's surrender will be as delicious as taking him. Luc will force nothing. Rah will give himself to Luc when he is ready to surrender his innocence, to capitulate every part of himself to Luc's command. Rah will open himself and let himself be taken. Luc's anticipation and desire are palpable; as real as his hunger for faithful, unconditional love. But to gain Rah, Luc must be willing to do some surrendering himself.

Timeline: this book begins in 4664, after the end of For Women Only, and the last two Tales of the Chosen books Alitus, and Jawk.

Setting the scene:
After a falling out between Izzorah and Luc's former lover (Wulf) Izzorah left, needing time alone to think. He'd discovered the "dungeon" which Luc had used with Wulf, full of items which Izzorah, as a virgin, had never seen before. Although he left Luc a message that he's all right and needs time to think, the immortal Luc worries. When Izzorah finally arrives home in the middle of the night, Luc rushes downstairs to greet him -- and try to explain. Rah is standing next to a baby grand piano in the middle of the luxurious penthouse entertainment area.
---
Luc bit his lips. His heart beat in his ears, mouth dry. He clenched his hands, opened them, and linked his fingers together.

Izzorah wet his lips, brought his ears forward, and canted them toward Luc.

Luc opened his mouth, paused, and then closed it. What could he possibly say to explain the mess he'd made of things? In business, he always knew the right thing to say, did the right thing. Yet he stood before this untried youth, too shattered to speak his heart. Say something! He clasped both hands behind him. No words would come.

Izzorah flashed fangs in a human smile. "Did you get my message?"

"Yes! Thank you, love. I was relieved to know you were all right." He dragged a hand through his hair. "What the hell did Wulf say to you? The dungeon was for him, but I was going to tear it out and put in a rehearsal room for you. I never intended to take you there. I swear it."

"Oh, Luc. It's all right." Izzorah held out both hands. "Come here."

The words were so unexpected he froze for a moment, but when Izzorah gestured to him again, Luc eased around the curve of the piano.

Izzorah met him at the end of the keyboard, slipped both arms around his waist, looked up, and smiled. "Don't be embarrassed. I understand. Or I'm trying to."

"I'm --" Izzorah would know a lie for what it was, as he'd known Luc was embarrassed. "Love, I know pain isn't the way to your heart, and I want your heart."

Izzorah tilted his head, ears forward, green eyes narrowed. "It's good to be home."

Luc sighed. "I'm glad you feel you're at home. You belong with me, Rah." Luc's heart pounded as if he'd been running. "I missed you so much." He pulled the Kin into his arms, drew him up tight against his body, eased one hand into his hair, and kissed him.

Izzorah parted his lips, inviting Luc inside.

With a groan, he gathered Izzorah closer, squeezing him in his arms, lost in their mutual surrender.
