These are updates to the website going back to 2005. I kept notes prior to that, but would erase them when adding the next thing. I decided it would help me track progress if I kept them. It's an interesting walk through the history of the site, and changes that have been made. A crash in 2011 wiped out links in the text, but most of the links were internal and can be reached by clicking the appropriate page in the index. There are a couple of goodies at the very end of the page for those who venture that far.
Updated the Tovar Fasra page to the Imperinet section. There are images of the performer at the Conqueror's Palace, and info about aspects of his life. Click Imperinet, and then the Tovar ad.
Chocolate Works now has its own page! "Come for the dancers, stay for the food" is a slogan with all sorts of possible meanings. Want to see what the fuss is all about? Click here. This restaurant / male strip club was featured in For Women Only and Jawk: Tales of the Chosen.
The Lucsondis page on Imperinet has been updated. It now boasts avatars for Ahneesah Kin, Kumwhatmay, Tovar, Iron Soul, and Forbidden Pleasures. You can also contact the company for work. You just have to be willing to relocate to the Tarthian Empire!
Uploaded two reader reviews for Forbid My Heart to the "Reader Reviews" page. Sincere thanks to Kay Dee Royal and Thommie for their encouraging words.
The Bank of Tarth page is back online for Imperinet. You may now go into debt on Tarth as well as Earth. How handy is that?
Batchelors now has its own page on Imperinet! I've been thinking about this for a long time. Good to finally have it ready to go.
Back from Outlantacon. It was great fun! I presented a Tour of the Tarthian Empire -- will be making several videos from this. It was a huge success. Lots of oohs and ahhs for Sanity IV and other areas of the tour.
Added a new image to the Tarthian Tour home page. Now you can see all 24 planets in one place. Click "tour the empire" in the index to visit the page. An animated graphic shows a glimpse of each world, and takes less than 30 seconds.
The Peril.me website is live. You haven't lived until you've been in Peril.™
Forbid My Heart: A Luc and Rah Story is out! It's free until Apr 28 on my publisher's website. Click the story name to go to the site.
Got the cover for Forbid My Heart: A Luc and Rah Story. Check it out on the books page or its own dedicated page.
Added social media buttons to book pages, and uploaded the mockup cover for the new Loose Id release Forbid My Heart. This short book is out April 23, 2012.
Added a cool free link to editing software for editing, called ProWritingAid. Check it out.
Updated the Free Reads page by adding back an old favorite. Liquid Silver Books authors put together a chapbook of excerpts in 2007. These were excellent stories. I hope readers enjoy them.
New wallpaper "Tarth City" based on art licensed from Innovari. This is a view of Tarth City, including part of the Nizamrak Building on the left, and Conqueror's March Blvd leading away. In this view, Destine Pietan Stadium is behind the viewer.
I submitted a short story to Loose Id, set in the Tarthian Empire. I'll list info for it when it's accepted. All Through the Night is a Luc and Rah story. The same day, I received an offer from Ellora's Cave for Keeper of My Pleasure, a male/female BDSM contemporary. Woot! I'm planning to have more things out this year.
Updated the Fifty Gays of Shade page to include the new buy link for Torquere Press and ARe.
Added wallpaper of Pietas in his dragon form, Stormsinger. My son, Jamin Allen did the basic artwork. I collaborated and using his instructions, added shading, background, and other special effects. It has an artsy look to it -- hand drawn but also computer graphics. Click Wallpaper on the left menu to see.
Woot! Cover alert! I got the cover for Fifty Gays of Shade from Torquere Press. This is one of fun parts of being an author -- getting to see the artwork that represents your book or story. In this case, it's gorgeous. Literally all the rainbow covers. Click Books to take a peek.
Today, I uploaded a brand new Book Trailers page. The same videos are there, but in a new format and with much better links. There is also a new feature: meet the characters. For now, the male characters are represented. I'll add the female ones later. You can even see which one appears in which books.
It's another new year. Today marks the 9th year of this site. The first year I didn't keep track of updates. There are eight years worth of changes noted below, in various sections. In 2011, a major crash took out original links but the text is still there. Most links were internal anyway, and some of the info is still available.

Added two images to my wallpaper page, the Felidae night sky, and the Milky Way galaxy. I created the galaxy image myself, using multiple layers in Photoshop. Very proud of how it came out.
I added a red ribbon to my home page in support of World Aids Day. It links to a site with information and updates, plus places for help, counseling, and ideas of how people can help.
I was sorry to hear that Fictionwise is closing up shop. I have removed the links to their site. Locally, Atlanta news reported that the makers of Wonder Bread, Twinkies, and Ding Dongs is also going out of business. Is it wrong that I'm a bit sadder about the Twinkies than the ebooks?
Added a NETway page for fun. Find the word NETway and if it's green, click it. You may be surprised where it goes.
Added a button for Authorgraph.com -- a site which provides autographs for ebooks. It works by alerting authors they have a request, which they fulfill by signing in and creating a custom response in the Authorgraph system. The readers then pick up the file and it's loaded onto their ereaders. Read more about it at the site by clicking the name.
Added a new version of the Tarth City map. I'm experimenting with a printable version and will upload that when it's ready.
I'm updating older pages a few at a time. Tonight I uploaded two hidden pages. Can you find the Sleeper? Or will you end up caught in the Praetorian's web and be taunted with "Ha ha ha! Where is the Sleeper now, eh?" Beware, rebels! The Praetorian are on the lookout...
I generally update this page only once a month or so, but many changes have occured recently. Today, I added a new book cover to the front page, and to the Books and excerpt pages. I have a short story coming out in Fifty Gays of Shade, an anthology edited by Kiernan Kelly and due out in Nov 2012 from Torquere Press.
Added three images to the Wallpaper page. These sites are from the Tarthian Tour Company; the planet Tarth, the Tyran sun, Kyrenie, and a firestorm on Kyrenie.
Woot! This website is the Coffee Time Romance Caramel Corner pick for best website Oct 2012. The nomination was made for the Tarthian Tour Company.
The Tarthian Tour Company website is completely updated. It now has 28 pages of tour material, and includes links to books that take place on the various planets, links to new wallpaper, and images that open full-sized. There is new art, and that portion of the site has been redesigned.
Sold a short story to Torquere Press for inclusion in their Anthology 50 Gays of Shade, about a BDSM club called Shady Business, owned by one Grey Shade. My contribution is "Bill Me." Due out in Nov 2012.
The book pages were updated because two of my publishers opened new websites. Each page now has links to reviews, as well as purchase links for the UK.
The reviews page has been completely updated. Snippets of reviews are shown for each of the Tarthian Empire books. I'll add reviews for The Last Vhalgenn at a later time. In addition, I made technical changes on my site that might not show on the outside, but which will help me manage the site better. Eliminated some redundant coding and deleted old image files. I manage the Marketing for Romance Writers website as well, and a trick I'd learned there was the impetus for this update.
Uploaded the final DragonCon images tonight. I was on three panels - the first of which I don't yet have images of, but hope to get. The other two are posted on the DragonCon 2012 page.
Updated my DragonCon homepage to show images from 2012. It will updated again in the next couple of days as I take pix at the con.
The At the Mercy of Her Pleasure page got a new image and link. Karen Cote' created a talking avatar for him and it's linked via Pinterest. Check it out by clicking the book's title.
Uploaded a new image today. Paladin, the only Sempervian ever to defy Pietas and live to walk away now has his own wallpaper.
Although not technically an addition to my website, many of the images on my site are now linked via my Pinterest account.
Added iTunes links for most of my books: Apple has BANNED Wulf for "objectionable content." The book is too HOT for them!
Added a PDF list of my books to the Books page. You can download it and find each book at its publisher, and online bookstores.
Writing this after the fact. I was in the hospital from the 8th to the 11th. Better, home now, and on the mend. ^_^
Added a Pinterest link to the "ShareThis" icon on my homepage. It is being added to other pages asap.
Corrected a link on my homepage and reloaded a button for the Unstoppable Heroes blog.
New art page added -- CGI art inspired by Luc Saint-Cyr. You can access it by clicking here: ART or by clicking the Ideas page for Luc. Contains six new art pieces that show Luc's enigmatic eyes. Original art by Janet E Jones and Kayelle Allen.
The Night Raven Gallery page (click name to visit) has been updated with new original art from author Janet Elizabeth Jones. The page features characters from her books, done in CG. The gazebo is incredible. Today is also my mother-in-law's birthday. Happy b'day, Mom! <3
Updated my first page with alt links to make the site more accessible to web crawlers. Moved the site search to a more prominent location, and tidied the code.
Happy birthday to my sister, CJ. Love you, sis!
I uploaded a new media kit today and revamped my "About the Author" page. You can now download more than you ever wanted to know about me. ^_^
The Free Reads page is updated. I added a new cover for A Romance for Christmas, and provided a printable one-page shopping list for groceries. I hope you enjoy using it.
Updated the banners page with two new banners. I exchange banners and links with other authors. Click Banners to learn more.
Happy Leap Day! I added an updated version of the Tarth City Map to the Wallpaper page, plus added back two old favorites, Visit Tarth, and the Crossfire (Luc's ship). Visit Tarth was a Top Ten Finalist in the 2009 P&E Award. Art by my son, Jamin Allen of Nimajination Studios.
Each book's page is now updated. It contains a large cover image, at least one video (a few have more), a puzzle or three, and an excerpt. There are also links to reviews and reader's reviews. You can request a Kindlegraph from each page as well.
Feb 15 Now that the monitor I own is wider than before, I noticed the pink stripe on the left of the page shows up on the right as well. I couldn't see it before. So I opened it in Photoshop, made the canvas twice as wide, and saved it. When I uploaded each page, the new, wider stripe was in place. Easiest fix ever.
Uploaded a new banner for my website. I created it myself. The former one was original art by Laura Givens, and I loved it. It didn't have Izzorah, and I wanted to add him, but to be practical, I can't add a character to the banner every time I write a new book. So I decided to pick a few images I liked and use those to represent all my heroes. Hope you like the new look.
All updates are now added back to the site. They chronicle the site from 2005 forward. Sadly, the links were unsavable, but most of the data referred to was on this site, so it can still be found by clicking the menu item referenced. There's a nice little surprise at the end for those who venture that far. =^_^=
Continuing to work my way through a site rebuild. Today I recreated Izzorah's idea page, and began work on two new ones. The Tarthian Empire and the Sempervians will each have an idea page before long. There is a lot to say about both. It will be a bit of work to make the info fit.
I recreated the Luc Saint-Cyr idea page today. I added a reference from Jo, who is generally created with founding KinSkin, a cosmetic company mentioned in at least two books. The real story of how the business came about and Luc's part in it is on the updated page.
I asked a question today on Facebook about how people view science fiction and speculative fiction. The question was prompted by a reader who commented that he wondered if the Tarthian Empire was pure imagination on my part, or a glimpse of a future consciousness. Made me do some thinking about the concept of future knowledge. In visiting the page, I noticed the slide show had stopped working (Slide.com is going away), so I quickly rebuilt the page. I had lost my original document last year, and needed to redo the page anyway. This seemed like a good time. The page is a little different, and the TTC Schedules page now has jump links.
Surrender Love has an updated page. It now features a video, links to buy in print at Amazon, Kindle, Fictionwise, and more, plus a word search puzzle and a jigsaw puzzle, all on the same page.
The anthology A Time To... is no longer in print, but the short story I had in the EPPIE finaling Fantasy is available in audio format. Find out more on the page for The Last Vhalgenn by clicking the title here, or the Books link.
After more than two months of not being able to make changes due to a loss of program material, I have finally been able to update my site. Many changes have taken place. I'd been wanting to simplify links and pages, and this was the perfect time to do it. The front page is new, as is the Books page. At the Mercy of Her Pleasure is the first page to get a rewrite. It now has an excerpt, video, links to buy in print at Amazon, Kindle, Fictionwise, and more, plus a word search puzzle and a jigsaw puzzle, all on the same page. I hope you enjoy playing them! The other pages will soon get updates as well.
Updated the tour pages, added a new world - Nangono - and included "Like" buttons on each page.
Human Perfect is now available on the Free Reads page. Updated cover art for A Romance for Christmas, Whiskey and Wine, and new art for Human Perfect are up. Covers by Kayelle Allen Design.
Updated my Links page. New icons for all the various places where you can find me, and ensured all links are working for author friends. Tested in Mozilla Firefox 5 and IE8. If you have issues, please email me and let me know your browser type and OS (Windows, Mac, etc.) I appreciate your input!
Updated Imperinet and Top Tier. It looked like the codes had a nervous breakdown. Nothing lined up, and the font sizes were huge. I redid the two pages, checked it in other browsers and it seems all right. If you see issues, let me know at the "Email Kayelle" link in the navigation menu on the left. I appreciate your help! Check out the two pages -- I added a couple of new companies. Upcoming: new company pages to explore.
I'm adding a Facebook like button to my homepage. Hope to add it to all pages soon.
Adjusted settings for Firefox, updated due dates, books being released, and ensured links work properly. Any issues? Email me by clicking the Email Kayelle link on the left, and put bug in the subject. I'll fix it asap. Thank you for helping me maintain a well-run site!
First update for a while -- I've been in a writing cave discussing edits for Surrender Trust with Loose Id. Making notes regarding changes. This will be one awesome book when it's finished. Between my vision and their know-how, ST will bridge the three books with a strong-as-steel arc. Woot! Surrender Trust will be worth the wait.
I'm participating in the Coffee Time Romance "Bring in the New Year with Books" program. You'll find a polka-dotted heart somewhere on my website. Hint: Do Not Leave This Page. ;)
Updated the Night Raven Gallery with a stunning portrait by Janet Elizabeth Jones. Visit to find links to her real website and her books.
Today begins the Creating a Marketing Plan course that I'm teaching on Marketing for Romance Writers. M-F 1/3 to 1/28. Free! Click the course name to see more.
For Women Only is now available in print at Amazon! More sites coming.
Updates go back to 2005. This website began in 2004, but for the first year, I erased updates when posting new ones. In 2005, I decided to keep them as a record for myself as well as readers. I find it interesting to go back through the history of my site, and my writing, and see the changes that have occurred. Because of a hard crash in 2011, all the links were damaged. The text was rescued, but none of the links survived. Most were to pages within the site, and can still be found by clicking on the menu to the left.
*** 2010 Updates ***
(Regrettably, links in archived sections do not function due to a PC crash and reformatting.)
I hope your Christmas was wonderful. I had the privilege of being with all my children and grandchildren, and my husband and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary two days before. I am truly blessed. I wish each of you a wonderful new year!
Surrender Trust is finished! I turned it in at 2am and went straight to bed. ;0 The next day I received print copies of For Women Only. It's out on 1/1/11! How amazing!
I updated my Links page - deleted non-working ones and added new authors. I'm pleased to host a banner for Janet Elizabeth Jones - an author whose work I sincerely enjoy. Her new book, Incubus, is out 1/1/11 - an auspicious date for a brand new book. Click her name to view her site in a new window. Buy Incubus! It's incredible.
Loose Id announced they will be putting For Women Only in print in 2011! When I get it, I'll announce the date here, on Romance Lives Forever, the Edge of Peril, and Facebook.
The Glossaries page now has a download for a PDF version of the Felis Lexicon.
After a H-A-R-D crash, my pc is up and running. I'm glad I do regular backups or my website would be toast right now! If you find a page where something isn't showing up, you can do one of the following: email me and let me know, pout, or smack the screen. I recommend the first option... o_O Click email Kayelle in the left menu and let me know what page it is, in return, I'll email you a free read for Christmas. :)
Per Liquid Silver Books, Wulf - Tales of the Chosen will no longer be available in print after 12/31/10. Still in ebook form however. Click store name for print copies:
Barnes & Noble
Uploaded a new ad for Imperinet. The Sonnospetros Chiasmii Dream Therapy clinic now has a brightly colored ad. The doctor in charge is Tira Hadrian, a Chiasmii first introduced in For Women Only as the person who helped heal Khyff from his "dream trauma" -- forgotten childhood abuse. Chiasmii link to their patients while they dream, and direct them toward understanding and no longer fearing nightmare images. It's especially effective for children.
I now have an author page on the Romance Reviews website. The link is on the home page, or click the site name above. Uploaded a reader review that astonished me. I'm humbled and honored at the same time. Also added a 4.5 star review to At the Mercy of Her Pleasure. If this keeps up, I'm going to need a bigger hat! *pinches self* Yep, still awake! Wow!
I'll be part of Night Owl Reviews annual "Autumn Web Hunt" starting Nov 1st. [SCROLL DOWN] The pretty graphic below is part of it.
Fixed a mix up on the Trailers page. Alitus and At the Mercy of Her Pleasure videos had been switched during a recent update. *oops* removed an extra logo on the menu on the Awards page, and discovered there were two "Share This" buttons on the Dragon*Con page. One of the code boxes had been set to invisible. *scratches head* But it's fixed now. Any weird things or broken links you find, feel free to email email@example.com and let me know.
Fixed two videos and reset links to the For Women Only company. Checked links on Imperinet and Top Tier to make sure everything works.
Updated the entire site today. Repositioned the logo and menu for better access. Added a link for Imperinet to the idBot page. Want to see character Shohn Lexius mentioned in several books? Find the idBot ad or the idBot logo on Imperinet or one of the Imperinet business pages and click it.
I improved the Imperinet and Top Tier pages. There are new ads, new logos, and some new news releases. Check out Batchelors! Can you tell which one is Trink?
A new Ideas Page is up! The Vhalgenn page tells about the world where the Last Vhalgenn takes place. Includes pictures, a video, and inside info about the book.
Today is my daughter's birthday! Can't believe how fast the time flies. :) I uploaded a trailer for The Last Vhalgenn. Click the Book Trailers link, or click Books, and then the cover of the book.
The idea page for Izzorah is finally live! Click his name for hot pics and cool info on one of the Tarthian Empire's most loved heroes and the newest immortal on the block.
Updated the trailers via YouTube. Now everyone should be able to open and play them.
Three trailers are complete for the Tales of the Chosen series. You can find them at the bottom of the Book Trailers page, and each excerpt page for the series. To find the excerpts, click the Books link. Clicking the covers takes you to each book's excerpt page.
Uploaded new wallpaper today! Click Wallpaper in the left menu to see all the images. The new one is the Crossfire, the showcase for Luc Saint-Cyr's new technology. He purchased rights for it at the end of the book Wulf, Tales of the Chosen. In Jawk, the last book in the Chosen trilogy, he takes Jawk aboard for one of its trial runs. If you want to know how it works, the answer is found in Jawk.
Updated the Tarthian Tour Company pages for Detiza, Notidisia, and Sanity IV. New pictures and material uploaded.
Two days to release! For Women Only is out on Tuesday June 15th. Click the Books link on the left to see more info. Clicking the book's cover takes you to an excerpt and video page. Clicking the cover there takes you to the publisher's site.
I uploaded the cover of For Women Only. It's full of blues and greens. It's on the Books page. I also got word that At the Mercy of Her Pleasure will be going to print in the later part of fall, likely in October. Great news all around.
Over the past week I added two new ideas pages; Kin, and Luc. Check them out right away. The Kin page is simple. Luc's has greater detail.
Today is hubby's birthday! Yeah, we have a lot of them this time of year. Happy birthday sweetie. I love you!
I uploaded a link to a free mp3 player which is also a free video player. yPlay contains no adware and was created by programmer / author Simon Haynes. Here's a little blurb about his Hal Spacejock series. "Combining relentless action with non-stop laughs, Hal Spacejock explodes onto the science fiction scene with the subtlety of a meteor strike and the hushed reverence of a used car salesman."
Uploaded another 4.5 star review for At the Mercy!
Uploaded a new video today for At the Mercy of Her Pleasure. The Last Vhalgenn was up for book of the week at Long and Short Reviews!
Today is my birthday. I can't decide if this should be my 30th annual 29th birthday or my 29th annual 30th birthday. Either way, I still feel the same inside. I have always taken joy in what I write, enjoy life, and love deeply. That has never been more true than now. When I'm writing, I'm happy.
My dad would have been 98 today. He's been gone a long time, but I still miss him. You may notice that many of my characters are close to their fathers -- that's because of the way I saw my dad. I write a little of him into their characters to honor his memory.
I uploaded two awesome reviews, each 4.5 stars, one each for The Last Vhalgenn and At the Mercy of Her Pleasure. They are on the Reviews page as well as the Books page.
Happy Birthday, Mom! It's my mother-in-law's birthday today. *waves* I updated my books page, and the Reviews page to show At the Mercy's first review! Woo hoo! Love Romances & More gave it 4.5 stars and called it "...truly a work of art..." As if that didn't swell my head enough -- it also called me "...a masterful storyteller..." Um, I think my mother once called me the same thing, but not in such a nice way. =^_^=
I did it. I created a book trailer by myself. Someone pat me on the back quick! LOL Click on the word Book Trailers in the menu to the left.
Completely updated the Felis Glossary. Changed from about 6 pp printed to over 25 pp. Sections for scents, basic words, body parts, numbers, prefixes, and more. Try it by clicking Glossaries on the left side of this page.
Made general changes and fixed a few broken links.
Updated the Imperinet page and some of Top Tier. New logos. Starting new pages for these companies soon. Also, uploaded updated Tarth City maps showing action from At the Mercy of Her Pleasure. Final change - there is a page for Nimajination Studios. Son Jamin Allen has award winning art there. Click Galleries on the left and then choose Nimajination.
The Last Vhalgenn is out in audio book at AudioLark.com - fantasy, one hour of listening time. Paige Holt is the narrator.
At the Mercy of Her Pleasure is out! Again. ^_^ Second edition from Loose Id and much steamier, plus extra info not included in the prior edition.
Deleted a page from the 2006 DragonCon pics; they were blurred and fuzzy. I figure four years is long enough to store them.
One week to the release of At the Mercy of Her Pleasure!
Uploaded covers for At the Mercy of Her Pleasure and updated the Books page. Surrender Love has garnered so many awards. I put the beautiful EPIC trophy on the shelf to the left of my pc so I can see it when I glance up. Wow. Still hopping!
Squeeeeeeeee! Hopping up and down! Surrender Love got the EPPIE / EPIC award! Best Science Fiction Erotic Romance 2010!
New cover art for At the Mercy of Her Pleasure! It's being re-released with hot new scenes, intense editing, and an Anne Cain cover that's brilliant. Click the book name to visit the excerpt page, or Books to see the new layout for my book pages.
Wowser! Nominated in the "Best of 2009" awards at Love Romances and More for SciFi/Futuristic, All Around Book (Surrender Love), GLBT Author, and once more for the same book, Cover Art by Anne Cain. I'm thrilled!
New art gallery page is up! Amy Harlib's Fantasticarts gallery is live. Click the name, or click Art Galleries and then her page name.
Added "Share This" links on every page and updated all the tour pictures. I have work to do on about three pages on Imperinet and the entire site will be ready for inspection by the troops. :)
Long overdue, but I finally have copies of the DragonCon 2007 pictures updated! It's in the same format as the years 2008-09. Next year will be similar in design.
I updated the Lucsondis page and made minor adjustments here and there throughout the site.
The first round of edits is complete for At the Mercy of Her Pleasure, which is being released at Loose Id on March 23rd. My editor asked for few changes to the rewrite I submitted, which was a pleasant surprise. We anticipate finishing all edits by 1/29! The art department contacted me to see if this was the same universe as Surrender Love, which it is. They wanted to know so they can have a consistent look and feel. I'm hoping that means I get to work with Anne Cain again. Woo hoo! I know whoever I get will be awesome -- Loose Id's art department is terrific.
*** 2009 Updates ***
(Regrettably, links in archived sections do not function due to a PC crash and reformatting.)
I received the cover for The Last Vhalgenn from AudioLark. It's gorgeous! You can find it on the Books page, Reviews page, and the Excerpt page for the Last Vhalgenn.
I received a contract offer from AudioLark.com for an audio book of The Last Vhalgenn. This little story has attracted a lot of attention. It was included in an anthology called A Time To... which finaled for a 2008 EPPIE in Fantasy. Shadowfire Press picked it up later that year as a standalone short story. Now, it's coming out in March 2010 as an audio book. How cool is that?
I'm ecstatic! Surrender Love finaled in the 2010 EPIC Awards, formerly known as the EPPIES and still fondly referred to by that name. The category is Erotic SciFi Romance. Luc and Rah must have duly impressed the judges. Way to go, guys!
Submitted At the Mercy of Her Pleasure's re-vamped manuscript to my editor at Loose Id today! It's due out early 2010, with For Women Only to follow. Both books have been completely re-edited, Mercy (if you can believe it) came out even hotter than before, and For Women Only will feature more of Khyff's capable charms. They didn't call him "the Machine" for nothing.
War games are finally over on Alsnorn, and a true likeness of the planet is available. Click "Tour the Empire" and then click the planet Alsnorn, or its name in this paragraph.
Updated my links page! Also, I announced that in 2010, I'll be offering guest author spots on Tuesdays on my blog, Romance Lives Forever! To sign up, email me (click Email Kayelle in the menu) and tell me what day. The first quarter of the year is already gone! May and forward are still available. Act fast!
Eight years ago today, the Twin Towers and the Pentagon were destroyed in an act of terrorism that America will never forget. Today is a day of service to honor those who gave their lives trying to save others.
Updated my DragonCon 2006 pages and all 2009 pictures! Starting to work on the 2007 pages that were corrupted. *sigh*
The panel was an awesome success - we all met readers and other authors and had a great time. Next year, we hope to do it again! There were around 100 people in the room plus the five of us and Kiernan's Minions. Great fun was had by all.
Heading off to DragonCon where I'll be moderating a panel with Kiernan Kelly, Sascha Illyvich, Ally Blue, and Fiona Zedde. "Exploring the Final Taboo: Writing Same Sex Romance" will be part of the Writer's Track, one of the first GLBT panels held in this section of the decades old con.
Ecataromance gave Surrender Love 4.5 stars and a sensuality rating of Sizzling! The reviewer was Elise. "Excitement, heat, smiles, and danger are all awaiting you in the pages of Kayelle Allen's Surrender Love." How cool is that?
Romance Junkies Reviewers voted Surrender Love one of their Blue Ribbon Favorites for 2009! That is way cool. I'm so pleased, not to mention excited... You can see the graphic by hitting the button for Books.
Updated this page by adding the Two Lips Review banner. I hope you can find it!
Out of touch awhile but I've now overhauled the entire tour. Better links on each page to all worlds. The Tarthian Tour Company has a home page complete with logo, and a fees and scheduling page. Every currently discovered world in the empire is available for view. As new ones are discovered, they'll be added. Go to the home page and click Tour the Empire!
Important things first - GO ADAM LAMBERT! Ok, now, on to the other tidbits for you. I'll be attending the GLBT-oriented Outlantacon SciFi con in Atlanta GA May 1-3 as a guest. This is the first year they'll have a three-day conference. In prior years, it's been a one-day gaming event. Other guests include Kiernan Kelly, but since my internet connection is down right now, I can't open the site and double check the names of everyone else. :( However, you can easily find out by clicking Outlantacon now to find out details and location. For once, a con that's not downtown. Hurray! I'll have copies of Wulf for sale, plus some cool T-shirts and lots of freebies.
Surrender Love received four-star reviews from Fallen Angel Reviews and Romance Junkies.
Surrender Love received two 5 star reviews -- Literary Nymphs and Rainbow Reviews both gave it their highest rating. I'm excited about the reception it's had as well with readers as well. Many have written who discovered my backlist at LSB and have gone over to pick up all the books. Those of you who've done so - thank you sincerely. If you'd like more information and deeper knowledge of the empire and the immortals, a new group has been founded ONLY for those who've read all the series so far. Link to the Yahoo group The Edge of Peril to discover more readers like yourself and greater insight into the stories.
I posted the beautiful cover for Surrender Love today - everywhere I could think of. I'm also on the very last round of edits. It's due 2/17/09! Oh, and in all the madness in the last 24 hours, I discovered John Barrowman of Torchwood fame (where I first heard of him) can sing, dance, has done voiceover commercials, children's programs, and loves dogs. He also recently married his long term partner, Scott Gill, who's a cutie as well. John is a lot like Tom Welling of Smallville. He is gorgeous from any angle and in any light. All that, and he has a smile that melts butter. No wonder men and women love him.
Surrender Love is in its final stages of edits, woo hoo! *tosses confetti*. All looks good for Feb 17th release. Today, I updated the wallpaper page with a new page from Nimajination Studios. This one is textured and a beautiful site to behold. The Dellyn Fortress, added late last year, was nominated for the P&E Readers Poll in Art. Both Jamin and I are extremely pleased. You can click Wallpaper to the left, and if you like it, please click on "Readers Poll" above to vote.
A whole week of the new year is already gone. Is it just me, or does time seem to move a lot faster than it used to? At any rate, hope your holidays were great, and you're ready to tackle the challenges of the New Year!

Have been insanely busy editing Surrender Love for Loose-Id. Needing to cut several thousand words and have been trying to be judicious and careful so I don't lose the spirit of the story. Final deadline is this weekend and I'm as nervous a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Cross fingers, toes, eyes, heck -- anything! I just have to finish it and be in the right count by tomorrow night to get the book out on time. Not breathing till I hear. *ulp*
Today I started a 4-day Blog Trail that leads readers to a secret page on this website. Naughty is Nice - the Christmas anthology just came out from Shadowfire Press yesterday. You have a chance to win a tall, Christmas latte mug that says Naughty on one side and Nice on the other (stuffed full of Dove Chocolates), and everyone who follows the trail through 11/25/08 gets a download of A Christmas Cookbook. Click "latte mug" to see a picture of the prize.
Start here to begin the trail:
Updated the reviews page to include The Last Vhalgenn and made a space for Naughty is Nice once it's released and reviewed. Also updated the contest page so you can see how to win a cool Naughty or Nice latte mug! Shadowfire Press Holiday Party is on 11/21 - the same day my new anthology is released, Naughty is Nice, with Sultry Summers.
Updated contest page to show Savannah Chase contest. Over 40 authors on a Halloween bash 10/30/08. Click her name to visit her site.
New wallpaper Dellyn Fortress has been added to the Wallpaper page. Click the button on the left of the page.
Updated my books page and added pages for Naughty is Nice, (due 11/21/08) a Christmas anthology with Sultry Summers from Shadowfire Press, and added Shadowfire info and cover to The Last Vhalgenn page.
Surrender has a contract! Loose Id wants the trilogy and I've signed a contract for all three. More info on the Books page. Tentative titles are;
Wow! I have a new contract for a Christmas anthology with Sultry Summers. Her story is "Christmas Rescue" and mine is "A Romance for Christmas." The book is called Naughty is Nice. Cover artist is Janet E Jones. Click the Books page to see more info.
The DragonCon pages are complete. Check out the entire collection by clicking on Dragon*Con on the left of the screen.
I hoped to have all the DragonCon pix up by now, but have had a few personal delays and setbacks. All of the pages are up - but nearly all are blank. I need to learn a faster, better way to make thumbnails... turns out btw that I have 142 pix of the parade alone, plus a host of others! Wow. This is taking time. Worth waiting for, I hope!
Gee time gets away from you fast! I just came home from DragonCon 2008 in Atlanta and will be uploading pictures in the morning. I think I have over 100!
The Last Vhalgenn has been released as a solo from Shadowfire Press. I'm excited to get this opportunity to find a new market for the short story. Thanks to Michael Barnette and Auburnimp for taking a chance with me.
Also added a Marketing page with links for writers. This will eventually become an entirely new section.
Wow - didn't realize how long it'd been since I updated the updates! Added The Last Vhalgenn to the Books page and rearranged everything else there. I'm hoping for a contract for Surrender, which means my books page will need a major overhaul, as it's part of a new series. =^_^= DragonCon is 10 days away, and so is the release of this book!
Working on the rest of the updates. When I moved to a different program, all the buttons and links moved to the next item on the "link list," so nothing went where it was supposed to go. Yay :( found out after the TRS Diva contest and I didn't pass the website round. I was stunned. With over 100 pages and all the stuff on this site, I didn't qualify? So I had a couple of friends test it with me and was my face red. >_< In process of fixing now.
Updating the contest page and announcing it only there - go peek!
Updating more items on my site to make the pages come together and flow more perfectly. Check out the new Imperinet and Top Tier pages. If you read this page and email me tell me you read it, I'll send you a free short story unavailable anywhere else. This offer is good until I take it down. :)
If you're looking for the Sultry Summer icon, it's on this page. Just scroll down!
This is now the update page - and the homepage has other types of links. It gives me more room to work on the front.
Ok, next incarnation of the homepage. This page has a more subtle border, on one side only. My name and the catch phrase are placed differently. Any opinions you'd like to share? They're appreciated! Send firstname.lastname@example.org
Busy writing - but stopped this weekend to try out a new homepage and test it for a few weeks to see what people think. Feedback is welcome and appreciated. In fact, if you email me at email@example.com and let me know what you think, I'll send you Human Perfect, a free short story, as a thank you. You can only get this story directly from me, so if you want it, please take a moment, and email me your thoughts about this page compared to others on the site. I want to make my site readable and usable, so your input is needed.
Kevin Rought, fire arms expert, federally licensed fire arms retailer, gun smith and gun safety officer is the guest on Marketing for Romance Writers tonight at 7pm EST. He'll answer questions and give us overviews about weapons. A must-see for authors!
Updated the reviews page with new items for Jawk, and I'm creating a Reader Review page for all my books. If you have a comment or review you'd like to submit, email me!
Another great update - the Sempervians page now has their history in four parts. Evolution, Solution, Resurrection, and Retribution. Ever wanted to know who Pietas is? Check it out on the Sempervian page. And don't forget the Chosen Portal. Both these pages will be developed further.
Today is the day! Jawk is now available from Liquid Silver Books. Click any of the book covers to the left to visit the excerpt page on my site. Once there, clicking on the covers will take you to the publisher's website where you can read an additional excerpt (up to three chapters) and get all purchase info. Or, click here to jump there now.
I have a new puzzle! Check out the cool collage of covers for Tales of the Chosen on my puzzle page. My time is 1:21 - can you beat it? :)
Come to a party! Jawk is having a "Coming Out" party this weekend, from Sat 1/12-Mon 1/14 on my group, Romance Lives Forever. Authors will be dropping in all weekend to post excerpts and help me celebrate the release of Jawk, Tales of the Chosen at 6pm on Monday, Jan 14th. Come join the fun! The party is all day, for three long days! Giveaways!
Hope you enjoyed the holidays! It's good to take time off, do some fun things, spend it with family, and remember the more spiritual side of life, isn't it? I wish each of you the best in the new year! I've been running a countdown of trivia about the book Jawk, Tales of the Chosen and you can catch up on all of it on my group, Romance Lives Forever.

Upcoming items - On January 5, 2008, I will be the featured speaker in the Words in Motion Conference sponsored by Cobblestone Press. My topic will be "New Beginnings" and cover how to begin marketing yourself as an author. Whether you're a new author or a seasoned one, you'll pick up ideas and resources to help you on your way. This is the first annual WIM Conference held January 2-6, 2008 and there is no cost to attend -- everything is online. Register now by clicking on the underlined words above.
To celebrate the countdown to the release of Jawk, Tales of the Chosen on 1/14/08, I'm sharing a new piece of trivia every day up until the 14th. You can read the info in the following places. Romance Lives Forever (my Yahoo! Group), the Coffee Time Romance Forum, and on Liquid Silver Books "Coming Soon" page.
I'm an EPPIE Finalist! How exciting is that? My short story, the Last Vhalgenn, is in the EPPIE Finalist anthology, A Time To... edited by Carol Hightshoe. Winners will be notified next year. Quick, pat me on the back before I break my arm! To read more, click the title above or the Short Stories button on the left of the page.
I updated my links page and added some material to the Chosen Portal. Seeking a web designer for help with upgrading my Imperinet page. Know anyone who's "flashy"? lol - send them my way. Click the Email Kayelle button or click the words in this line.
Busy writing a new book! This one is not under contract yet, but is set in the Tarthian Empire and will be M/M. :) Will have more info soon.
Heading to Gaylaxicon in Atlanta! I'll be on a panel on Saturday - The Effect of New Technologies on Literature. As the author of five eBooks and the creator of a website over 100 pages that interacts with the books, I think I'm qualified to speak. :) Hope to see you there.
New puzzle for you! Click the Puzzles button to see the new version of the Milky Way as it appears in the 100th Century following the invention of the AVATAR system. More on that later!
Squeeeeee! The cover of Jawk is up! Click on the book to go to the excerpt page where you can see a much larger version. Laura Givens did a fantastic job. Release: 1/14/08
We are almost ready to upload the DragonCon pics so standby. =^_^=
I updated my Books page to reflect the reading order and timelines of the books. Check it out here or click the Books button on the upper left of this page.
My webmistress is working on uploading all the DragonCon pictures. Click the button to the left to find the first page. Patience, please... there were 75 to upload and I had a bit of difficulty doing it myself. :) She has taken over, so if you received a card from me at the con, check back this weekend. I will also link from the DragonCon homepage when they're ready.
It's official! Jawk, Tales of the Chosen has a release date -- Jan 14, 2008. No cover yet or an official link to a coming soon page for the publisher, but you can click here to find an excerpt and more info about the book on my own site.
Last year's one-day trip to DragonCon in Atlanta GA convinced me to attend all of it this year. My son Jamin took pictures for me, which were posted on my pics page. I'll be there this year with a new camera and hope to meet many readers and new friends! I'll also be on a panel with Ally Blue, Sabrina Luna, Michael E. Hill, Kiernan Kelly, and Sherrilyn Kenyon (insert fangirl squeal here, lol). I'll be in the Clayton Room at the Hilton Hotel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug 31st. This is within the Tolkien Track. If you come to DragonCon, please come by and say hello! Several of us will have door prizes to give away. Plus, you can meet Sherrilyn Kenyon, and she is fabulous! We met briefly at Writers Weekend in Seattle a couple of years ago. I'm sure she's been worried and wonders where I've been ... =^_^=
Jawk, Tales of the Chosen is in the can! And no, not the trash can, either. :) I finished it last night. My crit group has picked it apart all along, and it will go thru its final beta read and be out the door on Wed. Laura Givens, who did my other covers, will be working on this one, too. Can't wait to see what she comes up with! I love her work.
Reaction from the first beta reader: "OMG, I had to read it twice just to read it. I am speechless. This is so going to blow people out of the water. I tried to envision my own ending and it came no where close. I hated certain characters at one time, then I liked them, then I felt sorry for them, then I didn't trust them, then it started all over again. It just covered emotion on top of emotion." Look for a late Oct/early Nov release date!
It's been awhile since I could update. My site has transferred to a new server. :) Did you miss me? lol - we are now on GoDaddy.com and I have a webmistress. Novel Vision Web Design is the brainchild of Janet E Jones. I'm so excited to begin this new partnership. You'll see some new things beginning later this month. The BIG changes happen late in the year. Wait and see...
June 23rd there is a character chat on Romance Lives Forever. Alitus and Wulf will be in town all the way from across the galaxy! Drop by, say hello, and maybe get a sneak preview of the next Tales of the Chosen book, Jawk. Sat 6/23/07 1p-3:30p EST
Today starts a class I'm teaching on the Coffee Time Forum. It's a month-long workshop called Prepping for Author Days and Chats. Come on over and take part!
Update on May 17
We are altering our plan a bit but still going for the gold. More later...
I uploaded the proposal for an anthology today that will be pitched to a NY publisher this weekend by my friend Shayla Kersten. She, Sienna Black, and I have a great idea for a series of books in a shared world scenario. Since it's set in part of my universe, we have the working title Colonies of Man. You can be sure I'll post more about it here as it unfolds!
A busy day for me. I'm teaching a workshop on Marketing for Romance Writers in the morning, then bopping over to upload a video on Novelspotters group for a Video Party Jena Galifany is hosting. After that, there's a character chat on Romance Lives Forever and then I'm ending the day on a chat over on the Romance Studio! Whew...
The talents of Janet E Jones, owner of Novel Vision Web Design have radically changed myYahoo! Group and MySpace pages into mirrors of my website. Click their names to visit and see what I mean. Now, I've asked her to take on Imperinet. Soon we'll be working to enhance the fantasy of visiting the Tarthian Empire and make it seem as if you'd actually stepped into the future. She's also designing a blog for me where I can share updates, tell you all the ins and outs of contests, and you can ask questions, make comments, and catch up on what's new in the Tarthian Empire.
One more little goodie that I'm excited to share with you right now. I've created a brand new Yahoo! Group called "ireadkayelleallen." It's open only to those who have read at least one of my books. This is a private readers group for those who want to know more of the history, secrets, background, and details of the stories. Want to know where Khyff's mother gave birth to him? Curious about why the Kin do not have the letter B in their alphabet? Ever wonder why Luc Saint-Cyr helped Khyff gain his freedom? This is the group for you! To join, click the name "ireadkayelleallen" and when asked to comment, tell me which book you've read and / or which character is your favorite. Caution! Spoilers abound!
The contest I mentioned earlier is about to start. Look for info in a few days!
Oooh, wait till you hear what I have planned! There is a huge contest coming up that will involve my Yahoo! Group, Romance Lives Forever. In the meantime, try out my new puzzle of Alitus and the Conqueror. Art by Laura Givens - within beautiful frames done by Jamin Allen of Nimajination Studios.
Click the links to MySpace and Tagged, and jump over to Romance Lives Forever to see the new look. Novel Vision Web Design made all my accounts match my website. I'm more than impressed. Janet E Jones is the designer/owner, and she not only succeeded in creating exactly what I wanted, and on time, but also right on budget. I highly recommend Novel Vision for a professional touch. Click their name to visit their site.
My man Alitus has been a busy guy. He flew in from Tarth for the weekend and hung out on my group, Romance Lives Forever, chatting up the crowd. Senth Antonello, Wulf Gabriel, and Luc Saint-Cyr joined him. Oh my. I live near Atlanta, so Wulf and Alitus went sight seeing downtown. Since Alitus gives off peach-scented pheromones, he was followed down the street by a few tantalized Southern belles. *grin* And more than a few Southern boys as well. ;) Six solid feet of gorgeous male, blond hair and eyes the color of a summer ocean... mmm mmm mmm. Alitus is one yummy guy.
Plus, it seems Alitus garnered some wonderful reviews already. JT at Romance Junkies said, "Kayelle Allen once again crafts a romance that lives forever in the mind of her readers." Wow! Thank you JT and Romance Junkies. High praise indeed. =^_^=
Did you hear? Alitus has escaped! lol - the book has been released by Liquid Silver Books and is now available on their homepage as well as its own. Click Alitus to go.
Awards! I'm pleased to announce that the cover art for Wulf placed #21 in the Preditors & Editors Annual Readers Poll. The wallpaper Visit Tarth came in at #8! A top ten finisher. What makes me even more proud -- my son Jamin Allen created the art.
Updates for Imperinet and Top Tier include the tradestandard time and weather for Tarth City. These are gorgeous - you must see how nicely they came out.
I updated my Reviews page. Several great new ones for Wulf, and one for Alitus that really made me smile. I overhauled the entire page. This is one of the hardest pages for me to update. All these great things people say about my writing makes me feel wonderful - but at the same time I feel like a kid holding up her report card and going, "Look, mom! I made a good grade!" lol

In my never ending quest to make the Tarthian Empire real for readers, I have had the good fortune to work with artist Anne Cain. Since I had a character by that name who also happened to be an artist -- it seemed only natural to invite her to submit art for your enjoyment! Happily for us, she has done so. Yutai Art is now online. The characters Alitus Vivaldi and Wulf Gabriel visit this gallery in the book Alitus. Enjoy!
An excerpt page is now ready for Alitus. Click the Books button on the left.
Alitus has been accepted! Liquid Silver Books offered me a contract. From experience I'd say it will release late Jan/early Feb 2007. Woo hoo! Happy Dance Time!
I'm in print! Exciting news - my short story "The Last Vhalgenn" is available in print in the anthology A Time To... from Lulu.com. Here's a blurb: For centuries, the Vhalgenn have loved the kings or queens they were born to serve. Bedmates, soulmates, companions, and friends, the Vhalgenn know no other master, they obey no other lord. Until the final plea of a dying queen commands betrayal by the Last Vhalgenn. // This book is edited by Carol Hightshoe and is available now!

Well - hey, it was MY birthday and I felt generous =^_^= so I ended up giving away 8 books. I'm a soft touch; what can I say? Email me your birth date and I'll send you the "Kin Birthday Song" on your special day. It's in Felis. You won't find this one in the glossary until Sept 2006, so if you want to know what it says - send in your day! Click the email Kayelle button to the left.

Oooooh I'm doing the happy dance tonight. I got a contract for a short story. The Last Vhalgenn is set in the Tarthian Empire, prediscovery by the Tarthians. The world is striving in a brutal civil war. Here's the blurb:
For centuries, the Vhalgenn have loved the kings or queens they were born to serve. Bedmates, soulmates, companions, and friends, the Vhalgenn know no other master, they obey no other lord. Until the final plea of a dying queen commands betrayal by the Last Vhalgenn.
It'll be in the April-June issue of the Lorelei Signal, an ezine for readers who love strong female characters. ^_^ Would I write it any other way? Link to come in a couple of days.

Fresh new year with lots of chances for success ahead of us. Flip through that old calendar from last year - amazing how fast that went by, now that it's over. For those who faced challenges last year - some of my readers went through Katrina, others had health problems, still others faced family difficulties - my heart is with you. Here's to a brand new year filled with better things. You deserve it! A rock station I listen to has a "quick break" message they play before doing commercials. "Be back," they say, "faster than a squirrel can cross a street - so hang on to your nuts." LOL Sure fits looking back at last year, doesn't it? Here's to a future full of joy for all of us!

Today is my 32nd wedding anniversary! I'm as happy now as I was then -- and a lot less nervous about what lies ahead. I married a man who has said he loves me every day for as long as I can remember. He's my own personal hero. How many things in my books have a bit of his romantic heart in them? LOL - wouldn't you like to know! =^_^= My reviews page is updated to match the rest of the site. Take a peek - thanks to so many wonderful reviewers who have graciously given me excellent reviews.
